Jakarta, October 2020 – The current Covid-19 pandemic situation impacts a number of running events all over the world, including Indonesia. However, community enthusiasm especially running hobbyist that seek to break their record for distance running challenge remains high.

This inspires Maybank Indonesia as the organizer of Maybank Marathon to launch the Maybank Marathon Anywhere which is a virtual run program, i.e. a challenge for runner enthusiasts to select and join a run, consisting of three categories, 10K, 21K and 42K. since this program is virtual based, runners can join the challenge from various locations, wherever the runner is located.

Registration for the Maybank Marathon Anywhere virtual run challenge is open for public, amateur hobbyist or professional runner, visit the webpage Maybank Marathon Anywhere di www.maybank.co.id/mma for registration, which already started on Monday, 21 September 2020 at 14.00 (WIB)/02.00 PM (GMT+7) with no charges. The Maybank Marathon Anywhere virtual run challenge three categories is scheduled simultaneously from 28-29 November 2020.

“Considering the great response from the public related to sports, including running, during the pandemic, we are inspired to hold the Maybank Marathon Anywhere virtual run challenge. Although anyone from anywhere can join the Maybank Marathon Anywhere, we strongly suggest participants to adhere to health protocols and do the virtual run challenge in private, in location that avoid crowds,” says Taswin Zakaria, President Director of Maybank Indonesia.

Aside from registering, runners must connect their tracking device such as Suunto, Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Nike+, Runkeeper, MapMyRun, etc, with Maybank Marathon Anywhere platform in order to ensure the runner’s sports activity can be recorded and he/she can check the final results that will be displayed through the Maybank Marathon Anywhere platform, including the runner rank after completing the challenge.

Maybank Marathon Anywhere also released a special edition running jersey and merchandise which can be ordered via Maybank Marathon Anywhere official store in the Maybank Marathon Anywhere webpage. The merchandise will be couriered directly to the participant address to minimize interaction according to prevailing health regulations. There is a 30% discount for purchasing jersey when using Maybank2u or Maybank Credit Card payment at the official store.
