Perang Tipat Bantal - Rice Cake War


Perang Tipat Bantal or Rice Cake War is a traditional festival held annualy at Kapal village in Mengwi. The ritual represent the expression of gratitude from the villagers for a bountiful harvest as well as for the safety and well-being of the entire village Tipat which means the rice cake, represents women. While Bantal means pillow, representing men. Therefore the 'collision' of tipat and bantal hopefully will bring prosperity to the village.

The villagers throw rice cakes to each other at the festival. You will see villagers laughing and joking at each other, it really is a peaceful and fun loving festival. Don't miss out this unique activity and head out to Kapal village on October 15th if you want to witness it.
