18th "Galungan" holiday, the day believed as the victory day of "Dharma" (virtue) upon "Adharma" (evil). When the entire island is brightened with festives while "Penjor", the artistically, decorated bamboo pole, stuck at every house entrance adorning the both sides of village roads, symbolizing prosperity.

23rd Odalan (Temple anniversary celebrations) at :

24th "Mekiis" or "Melasti" ceremony, the procession of Hindu followers carrying temple effigies to the beach for purification ceremony in welcoming "Nyepi", the Icaka New Year.

25th "Tawur Agung Kesanga" ceremony, great sacrificial ceremony offered to the underworld spirits for not disturbing human being's settlement (at 12.00 noon) followed by procession of "Ogoh-ogoh" (Huge doll symbolizing evil spirits) in the evening.
  • Puputan square, downtown of Denpasar city

  • Square or cross road of town and village throughout Bali
26th "Nyepi" holiday, the Icaka New Year 1931, the day of absolute silence for Hindu followers. When no activity is done, no fire is lit, no travelling anywhere and no amusement is held for the day and night.
  • Throughout Bali
27th "Med-medan", a traditional event, this event is held in connection with "Nyepi" the Icaka New Year, involving maidens and bachelors of the village as to strengthen brotherhood and understanding among the youth. Initiated with prayer at the local temple, the group members then hug one another, getting throughly wet under water sprouted by "banjar" member. It is indeed a cheerful moment for all, held at about 15.00 pm.
  • Banjar Kaja, Sesetan village, south of Denpasar
28th "Kuningan" holiday, the last day of Galungan celebration, believed to be the ascendant day of the ancestral holy spirits and the Deities to heaven after sojourning for several days on this material world. On this day, special offering consisted of yellow rice and speial dishes are offered while every compound and temple is decorated with ornaments made of young coconut leaves and flowers.

28th "Makotekan" (village purification) ceremony at :
  • Munggu village, distric of Mengwi, Badung regency
28th "Perang Jempana", as part of the temple's anniversary celebrations when two groups of the temple adherents carrying "Jempana" (temple effigy), collides one another as to indicate thet the ceremony has been processed properly at,
  • Pura Panti Timbrah, Pakse Bali village, Klungkung regency
28th "Megarang Pipis" or "Mesuryak" (snatcing away the money), a special event when certain sum of money is collected from every family compound after holding a ritual, which money is then spread out on the village road snatched away by the crowd of people. It is believed that by supplying the anchestor holy spiritss with the money, the descendants will be rewarded with prosperity in return. It is usually held before noon.
  • Bongan Cina village, south of Tabanan, the capital town of Tabanan, Tabanan regency
29th "Pemendakan" (welcoming) ceremony, held in procession started from Denpasar heading to Sakenan temple, Serangan island. Temple anniversary celebration at :
  • Pura Sakenan, Serangan island (turtle island), Denpasar municipality
29th Temple anniversary celebration at :
  • Pura Dalem Pahuman Bujangga, Penatih village, east of Denpasar
